Property SummaryAn attractive house in the centre of town with parking for two cars and small courtyard garden.
Mill Lodge has recently been refurbished to a high standard. It has been designed as open plan on the ground floor to create a feeling of space and to allow maximum light into the property. The exterior belies the spacious interior. A stylish white kitchen blends well with a pale coloured Canadian Maple floor and the triple aspect windows with Plantation shutters add to the calming feeling of this room, which is further enhanced by a door out into the little courtyard. There is plenty of storage including a good size walk in cupboard next to the downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room, plus smaller bedroom and family bathroom. The bathrooms are modern and well designed with high end fixtures and fittings.
Outside is a small fenced courtyard at the rear and parking next to it. There is an additional parking area at the front of the property.
Mill Lodge is very well situated being on the corner of Mill Street (a small lane off the High Street) and South Street which leads to the Bishops Palace and Wells recreational grounds. Hence, one of the quieter locations in the centre with very easy walking to the High Street and green spaces.
Wells is the smallest Cathedral city in England, and offers all the usual amenities that you would expect in a small town including banks, doctors surgeries, dentists and a selection of primary schools and the excellent Blue School and Wells Cathedral school. The high street is vibrant with a small selection of the usual chain stores plus a variety of independent shops and restaurants and pubs as well as a twice weekly market and a choice of supermarkets including Waitrose. At the very heart of the city is the medieval Cathedral, Bishop’s Palace and Vicars’ Close (reputed to be the oldest surviving residential street in Europe).
The Wells festivals are increasing in popularity each year with the Literary Festival now taking place over two weeks and attracting big names in the literary world, the very well attended Food Festival and many regular Arts festivals. With both the Cathedral School and the Cathedral itself there are endless opportunities for musical concerts, plus there are regular shows and comedy nights in the Little Theatre.
Mains electricity, gas, water and drainage.
