The lovely large reception room has also been extended to the side with access to the garden. There is a dining room at the front of the house with a large bay window with wooden floors and this leads through to the additional study/office.

Upstairs on the top floor there is a fabulous master bedroom with cupboards under the eaves. The bedroom steps down to a great bathroom with double shower and excellent cupboards.

There are four further bedrooms one of which has an ensuite shower room as well as dressing area. A family bathroom at the rear of the house and double airing cupboards.

The well laid out garden has a great terrace area for table and chairs, there is a gravel area for parking and lawn for playing plus lots of space for storage sheds. Norbins Road is located just off the centre of Glastonbury down a quiet no through road.

Glastonbury is a town that is steeped in history going back to the legends of King Arthur. There was a Celtic monastery here in 500AD, which during the next 1000 years evolved into one of England’s wealthiest and influential Abbeys. The magnificent Glastonbury Abbey ruins and the famous Glastonbury Tor attract tourists to the town and so although small, it is a thriving town and it is well served by markets and a huge range of festivities. It is one of the few towns that has managed to shun many of the main chain stores whilst still providing all the necessary shops, restaurants, cafes, doctors, pharmacies, dentists, a wealth of clubs and sporting facilities and supermarkets.

Glastonbury is about 9 miles from Castle Cary Railway Station, which has mainline rail service from Castle Cary to London (Paddington) in circa 2 hours. Bristol and Exeter Airports are both within about 1 hour’s drive offering connections around the UK, Europe and to other destinations.

In nearby Street there are two swimming pools in Street, one to be found at the Sports Centre and the hugely popular outdoor Lido on the High Street with its lovely grassy areas for picnics. The Strode Theatre offers excellent live performances as well as films and exhibitions.

The ancient Cathedral city of Wells is only eight miles away and offers all the usual amenities of a thriving market town; twice weekly markets, plenty of coffee shops and restaurants, local supermarkets include Waitrose, Morrisons and Tesco. Wells has a thriving cultural scene with the concerts from the Cathedral School to regular art gallery events and the very well attended Wells Literature Festival and Food Festival.

Twenty minutes away is the very fashionable small town of Bruton which has the very popular restaurant/coffee/bread shop called ‘At the Chapel’ and the world famous Hauser and Wirth Art Gallery.

There are excellent state and independent schools in the area including St Dunstans in Glastonbury, Millfield Prep and Senior School as well as the highly respected sixth form college Strode College in Street and nearby Wells Cathedral School.

Mains water, electricity, gas and drainage.

From the A39 take the exit off the roundabout into Glastonbury (Northload Street), take the second left into Manor House Road, fourth turning on the right into Norbins Road and the house can be found towards the end of the street on the left.
