Property SummaryWow factor-Beautifully refurbished semi-detached cottage dating back to the 1850's. Lilac Cottage is a very attractive cottage that has been stylishly refurbished to a high standard. It has been carefully designed with lots of roof lights, soothing colours and has been extended to provide a stunning open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room which has bifold doors leading into the garden.
It is obvious on entering the hallway that there has been significant attention to detail, the colours are subtle, the radiator has an attractive cover and those in the kitchen are slate grey to match the new windows. The new parts of the house compliment the old, such as the window seats in the thick walls, lovely inglenook fireplace in the sitting room which has a wood burner alongside the old bread oven. The kitchen has exposed and painted stonework, an original stove that is now a decorative feature in the light filled modern kitchen that has engineered oak flooring, oak work tops and a large Rangemaster range cooker. Leading off from the kitchen is a very good sized utility room with doors to the garden, walk in storage room, pantry and garage.
Upstairs there is a light filled panelled corridor that leads to 4 good sized bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite shower room plus there is a family bathroom.
At the front is a gravel area for parking with flower beds plus two Lilac trees. To the rear is a south facing pretty garden that has a stone paved area next to the bifold doors and area of lawn surrounded by shrubs and trees which give a good degree of privacy. There are raised beds for vegetables, a wooden corner seating area, greenhouse and a shed.
Lilac Cottage is in the main High Street but is opposite an open field giving the house privacy and good views.
