Property SummaryA pretty detached three bedroom cottage with lots of character available to rent in West Pennard.
Dating from the 1800s, this property has everything you would want in a little Somerset cottage. Built of Blue Lias stone, with attractive fireplace and exposed beams.
The sitting room is particularly special as it has triple aspect windows and an attractive fireplace with wood burner. The kitchen has fitted cupboards and can fit a small table. It also has a large window overlooking the garden and door out onto a small but very private paved area, ideal for morning coffee.
The front door leads into a porch with flagstone floor that leads to a downstairs loo and this room houses the boiler. The first floor has a velux window at the top of the stairs which lets light into the good sized hallway which has fitted bookshelves.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a small single room, ideal for nursery or study. There is a family bathroom with bath and shower over.
A door leads from the kitchen to the small terrace which in turn leads up a few steps to the garden area. The main part of the garden is laid to lawn with mature trees on one side and there are two sheds. There is side access to the front of the property and off road parking for one car.
West Pennard is a very popular village in beautiful countryside near Glastonbury and Wells. It is an active village with an excellent primary school, a village hall and popular pub. Nearby Glastonbury is a thriving town and is well served by markets and a huge range of festivities. It is one of the few towns that has managed to shun many of the main chain stores whilst still providing all the necessary shops, restaurants, cafes, doctors, pharmacies, dentists, a wealth of clubs and sporting facilities and supermarkets.
West Pennard is also close to Shepton Mallet which holds weekly markets , has several supermarkets and the usual amenities of a small town.
The larger towns of Bath, Bristol and Yeovil are all within easy commuting distance.
There are excellent local schools in the area including the ever popular West Pennard Primary School. In the private sector there is Millfield (prep school is only 5 minutes away), Wells Cathedral School, Downside, All Hallows and the Bruton schools. Strode College in nearby Street is a very good sixth form college, plus there is St Dunstans in Glastonbury and Blue School in Wells.
Mains electricity, water and drainage and oil central heating.
